Paint dryer annealing furnaces

These are the furnaces, in which the drying and paint annealing of the work pieces are done following their painting. The design of the furnace can be of tub or common tunnel types, or, in special cases it can also be of “A” type of design. The „A” type of design is a special form of furnaces with continuous operation. With that design, the furnace is of tower type with various storeys and the work pieces are forwarded to the active zone of the furnace through an up streaming extension. The lower part of the active zone of the furnace is located higher than the top of the feeding opening. Therefore, the hot air does not flow out of the furnace. From the energy saving aspect at furnaces with continuous operation, it is the most economical design. The temperature necessary for drying is provided by a gas-operated air heater in most of the cases, however, certain smaller capacity dryers can also be operated by electric energy. Moreover, the annealing can be provided by infra panels as well. The infra panels, in special cases may also serve as a jellying zone in the powder annealing furnaces but the annealing can also be provided by only infra panels. The inlet fan of the air heater exhausts the air from the inside of the dryer and forwards it to the air technique pipe inside the furnace through the air heating inlet. The furnace is equipped with a temperature sensor which detects the current temperature. The temperature controller, reaching the set temperature, stops the heating. In case of any defect of the fan, the air-flow sensor immediately stops the heating. The temperature in the water dryer is usually between 180-220 ℃. The structure is of an individual galvanised sheet panel design and is equipped with 150-250 mm mineral wool insulation. If the water dryer is not of continuous operation, then it is equipped with either manual or pneumatic door which catches the outstreaming hot air. With continuous operation, this task is provided by an integrated air curtain at the input and output sides.

Dryer annealing equipment may consist of the following main and auxiliary units:
  • Galvanised sheets insulated structure
  • Air heating unit with fan (electric or gas operated)
  • Infra panel (for jellying or annealing)
  • Internal air technique system
  • Exhaust discharge air technique system with regulating shutters
  • Regulating shutter
  • Discharge fan
  • Control cabinet
  • Manual or pneumatic doors
  • Air curtain blinds with fan (only with equipment of continuous operation)
  • Support stand
  • Internal conveyor support steel structure
